Sit back, relax and enjoy this memorable collection of songs recorded by The Atlantics between 1966 and 2010. Ten of the songs have had previous worldwide release and are now extremely rare and near impossible to find elsewhere. These include 3 vocal tracks recorded by The Atlantics in the mid 60s during what is now considered by many as their “Garage Days“. Also included are studio versions of 3 songs originally appearing on the “Live at Freshwater” DVD recorded in March 2006 and the added bonus of a brand new track, “Tequila Slammer“.

1. THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY
Recorded in Sydney 2001 and released by Dancing Bear Records Croatia in 2002 on the album ‘For A Few Guitars More’ as a tribute to the works of Ennio Morricone. Lead Guitar Martin Cilia.

2. CHANTILLY LACE
Recorded in Sydney 2001 and released by OmOm Music Italy in 2001 on the album, ‘American Graffiti Revisited’. Lead Guitar Martin Cilia.

3. TEQUILA SLAMMER
A brand new song recorded at A Sharp Studios and mixed at Studio 45 Sydney, September 2010. Lead Guitar Jim Skiathitis. Bass Martin Cilia.

4. ONE MORE SUMMER
This is a studio version recorded at A Sharp Studios and mixed at Studio 45 Sydney in 2005. Later recorded in 2006 at Freshwater Beach Surf Club Sydney and released in 2009 on ‘The Atlantics Live at Freshwater’ DVD. Lead Guitar Martin Cilia.

5. IT’S A HARD LIFE
Vocals by Johnny Rebb & The Atlantics. Recorded in Sydney 1965 live onto a Revox two track tape recorder at the Eastlakes Scouts Hall Studio. Released by EMI on the Sunshine label in July 1966. Lead Guitar Jim Skiathitis.

6. TICKET TO RIO
This version was recorded at A Sharp Studios and mixed at Studio 45 Sydney, September 2010. Originally recorded in 2006 at the Freshwater Beach Surf Club in Sydney and released in 2009 on the DVD ‘The Atlantics Live at Freshwater’. Lead Guitar Jim Skiathitis.

7. SUPERSTAR
Recorded in Sydney 2002 and released by OmOm Music Italy in 2003 on the album ‘Jesus Christ Surferstar’. This version has an alternate drum track that was not used in the original mix. Lead Guitar Martin Cilia.

8. I PUT A SPELL ON YOU
Vocals by Johnny Rebb & The Atlantics. Recorded in Sydney 1966 live onto a Revox two track tape recorder at the Eastlakes Scouts Hall Studios and released by EMI on the Sunshine label in

10. COSSACK BEACH
This version recorded at A Sharp Studios and mixed at Studio 45 Sydney September 2010. Originally recorded at Freshwater Beach Surf Club Sydney in 2006 and released on ‘The Atlantics Live At Freshwater’ DVD in 2009. Lead Guitar Jim Skiathitis.

11. AQUARIUS
Recorded in Sydney 2004 and released by OmOm Music Italy in 2005 on the ‘Hair’ Tribute album. Lead Guitar Martin Cilia.

12. COME ON
Vocals by Johnny Rebb and The Atlantics. Recorded in Sydney live onto a Revox two track tape recorder at the Eastlakes Scouts Hall Studio and released by EMI on the Sunshine label in June 1967. Lead Guitar Theo Penglis.

13. THE CRACK OF NOON
Recorded in Sydney 2002 and first released on The Atlantics ‘The Next Generation’ album. This version has alternate drum and bass tracks that were not used in the original mix. Lead Guitar Martin Cilia.

14. TAKE A TRIP
The last single ever recorded by The Atlantics in the sixties and was recorded live onto a Revox two track tape recorder at the Eastlakes Scouts Hall Studios in Sydney. It was released by Ramrod Records in October 1967. Lead Guitar Jim Skiathitis. Keyboards Theo Penglis.

Think surf rock classics and a few songs come to mind. The Surfari’s Wipeout, Dick Dale’s Miserlou, Pipeline by the Chantays and of course Bombora, by Australia’s own, Atlantics.

Virtually the only successful first wave surf instro band not from America. Echoing the Shadow’s Twangy Atmospheric Instrumental Sound, they became a household name with the release of their giant hit Bombora in 1963.
